In the New Testament, Barnabas lived up to the meaning of his name - son of encouragement - a helper to Paul, and to many preachers and teachers of the Word.
Pastors called to the mission of planting churches need our prayer and support. Now more than ever, Kentucky Baptist church planters need encouragement through lasting relationships. To be an encourager is not solely about financial help but continually about an ongoing connection that will build over time. The success of KY church planters depends on the support of our 2,400 Kentucky Baptist churches. The Barnabas Initiative pairs encouragers (churches or individual members) with church planting pastors.
Ways to be a Barnabas Encourager:
-emails or cards of encouragement
-occasional gift cards
-pay for a planter’s car to be cleaned
-help the planter with a mission outreach event
-send the planter and his family on a much-needed vacation
-offer to pay for continuing education
-help as much or as little as you desire
